A Tango history video presentation introducing the best social Tango dancers from the 80’s and 90’s, and their influence on how we dance today-explanation of some of the steps we use presently.
From the personal collection of Mati Iriarte, discover the Tango at the “Barrios” of Buenos Aires, and their main characters. You will understand the origins of this beautiful dance and its etiquette of this time period.
Followed by an opportunity to mingle with Mati and Laura for a Q&A session

Dance workshop: Orchestras and their dance styles
Matias Iriarte and Laura Grandi will conduct a workshop showcasing how the milongueros danced to the orchestras of their time based on their interpretation of the music. Matias and Laura will teach the milongueros’ moves and explain the differences between them so that you get many tools for interpreting music in an original yet historically-informed way. The workshop includes historical tango videos from Matias and Laura’s personal selection.
This is an hour and a half workshop, followed by a half hour of guided practica.

Dance Workshop An Insider’s Guide to the Evolution of Tango Moves from the 40’s until Today
Matias Iriarte and Laura Grandi will conduct a workshop on the evolution of the tango dance throughout its history. First, they will teach a sequence from the 1940’s, and then they will teach you how the sequence branched out and evolved over the ensuing decades. You will see exclusive videos from the different eras from Matias and Laura’s personal collection, and will learn them in the workshop.
This is a one and a half hour workshop, followed by a half hour of guided practica.
