Strictly Tango NYC, founded in 2007 by Argentinean dancer, instructor, and choreographer Sergio Segura, is a premier authentic Argentine Tango Company. Its mission is to promote Argentine Tango’s heritage and culture in New York City by offering classes, shows and other events. The company manages Tango Talents (musicians, singers and dancers) and offers special corporate team building initiatives and cultural exchange programs. Tango Shows, Events Production and Talent Management
We offer a series of inclusive events for all kinds of organizations and stakeholders, across age, race and culture, truly opening the door to all so that everyone can experience Argentine Tango. We can bring to your event the best selection of artists and entertainment that vary from a pair of elegant dancers performing classic and traditional Argentine Tango to an outstanding full show with Broadway caliber artists, including glamorous dancers, exquisite renown musicians as well as passionate singers and an eloquent MC.
The Dance School
The school has been operating since 2007. It specializes in absolute beginners and welcomes people of all ages, races and diverse communities. Tango may be seen as a difficult dance to learn. However, the Company Director Sergio Segura with expertise in System Analysis has developed an “easy approach” to the fundamentals of traditional tango, by conducting an in-depth investigation of the teaching methods in salsa, hustle, swing, flamenco, ballet, modern
dance, and jazz as well as sport disciplines. This approach gave rise to a very easy method to understand, dance, and enjoy tango.
Tango Cultural Exchange Program
Many people feel too intimidated to try a dance class which is why the school offers tango thematic events. They’re more than a simple dance lesson. They’re an ice breaker /mixer experience which includes basic instruction in tango, games, entertainment, performance and live music (upon request). Our events area a whole lot of fun for tango lovers, dancers and particularly for people who’ve never danced before. We give everyone a chance to meet new people, form new friendships and share in a totally unique experience.
Corporate Tango Team Bonding
In 2017 we launched the Corporate Tango Team Bonding program. It’s essentially and icebreaker/mixer that permits individuals within a corporation to form closer bonds and ties with their co-workers as well as those from other departments. We emphasis strengthening leadership skills, internal motivation and teamwork. These workshops are fun and exciting and a great way to wind down after work and let loose while experiencing the essence of Argentine dance, music and culture. Corporate Tango Team Bonding offers a unique approach to learning and exploration within the comfort of your organization. It really is a program like no other.
